Make a Splash in Kent This Summer with These Seasonal Activities

  |     |   Neighborhood

Now that Washington has started to reopen little by little, we are so excited for what summer has in store here in Kent. Luckily, some of our favorite Kent events are back up and running for the season!

Get ready to find a sunny spot to lay out your blanket and enjoy what our charming city has to offer. Kent Parks and Recreation has a lot up their sleeve! Something we’re looking forward to most is the Summer Concert Series at Morrill Meadows Park. From an evening of smooth jazz from a local favorite to a popular Nashville recording artist that’s touring internationally, there’s a huge range of options this year to enjoy music, the outdoors and your favorite bottle of rosé! Check out their lineup, which runs from July 7th to August 18th. The shows vary between Wednesday picnic performances, Wednesday family date night options and Thursday evening time slots.

Looking to get moving? Register for the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K race on Saturday, July 10th! You can choose to run or walk and those 60 and over can do it for free! All events start at 9 AM at 20025 Russell Road.

For less scheduled summer fun and Kent happenings, check out the Kent Parks & Recreation Instagram account! You can learn about things like the reopening of the Riverbend Golf Complex driving range, how to access free online yoga classes, this year’s summer camps, volunteer opportunities and some ideas for a sunny-day stroll in nature. For all the foodie lovers out there, browse our previous blog posts if you’re in need of ideas of where to grab a beer or local cup of iced coffee in Kent!
