It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Kent! While things look a little bit different this holiday season, there are endless ways to get creative with fun new traditions at home in your CityZen Commons apartment.

Luckily, so many local businesses still have us covered with tasty sweets to satisfy all of your holiday cravings! From pies to cookies to festive drinks, here are some of our favorite options to celebrate the season with joy and satisfaction.

KJ’s Cakery Bakery

For one of the largest selections of holiday desserts and novelty sweets, check out the special holiday menu at KJ’s Cakery Bakery! They’re the experts in festive cookies, with options like decorated Thanksgiving cookies, Christmas cookies, nostalgic/retro Christmas cookies and even the option to get a paint your own cookie kit!

Cookies aren’t your thing? They sell other favorites like sweet potato pie and homemade sweet rolls along with “hot cocoa bombs” that melt into delicious hot chocolate when you add milk! Flavors include classics like peppermint, white chocolate and eggnog. For plant-based eaters, they even have options that are vegan and vegetarian friendly!

Sweet Themes

Do you have your eye on a pie? Sweet Themes Bakery has pretty much any seasonal flavor you could want! Their options include classics like pumpkin, pecan and apple, and span some more unique pies like chocolate cream and cherry.

If you want to go the cookie route (and even decorate your own), they’re offering Thanksgiving cookie boxes to go! The kit includes 12 plain cookies in six festive shapes, buttercream icing in six different colors and matching sprinkles. This year, more than ever, is a great time to experiment with fun DIY projects at home!

Wild Wheat Bakery Cafe & Restaurant

If holiday brunch is your thing, you’ll definitely want to stop by Wild Wheat Bakery and Cafe to grab some delicious food to go with your sweets! This restaurant in Kent has tons of egg options and other breakfast items like lox bagels, french toast and biscuits and gravy in addition to a full lunch menu!

To sweeten up your holiday meal, add a chai tea and a pastry! According to their Instagram account, they even have some seasonal options like pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

How do you savor the scrumptious flavors of the holidays while supporting local? We hope you can indulge in all of your favorites this year in the comfort of your CityZen Commons home.
